About the Role

Sewell Wallis are supporting a dynamic accounting firm located in the heart of Sheffield, dedicated to delivering exceptional financial services and solutions to a diverse clientele. I am seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant who's motivated and interested in progressing throughout their career. In this role, you will provide crucial support in managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

What will you be doing?

  • Handle daily accounting tasks, including invoicing, reconciliations, and bookkeeping.
  • Prepare year-end accounts.
  • Manage individual workflow as part of our wider outsourcing team, working closely with clients daily
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and other regulatory reports.
  • Prepartion of corportation tax returns.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
  • Dealing with a varied client portfolio including OMBs, in ecommerce, technology and construction industry.

What I am looking for?

  • Level 4 AAT qualified or working towards it is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an accounting role in practice (preferred) or industry 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and a proactive attitude.
